Had some difficulties setting up this card and was finally successfull.
Thought I would share my experience with this formum.
Machine is a PC Partner VIB878DS Series motherboard running
a 500 Mhz AMD K6-2 AFX processor w/128 MB ram, AMI Bios and
Windows 98 SE.
Had one hell of a time getting the bios/drivers to recogize the card
untill, in the PCI IRQ/DMA menu in the bios I set IRQ 10 to Legacy
( ISA Card ) and in Windows set the Address for the card to 240 instead
of default 220 and lo and behold, when I powered up the machine with
these settings, worked perfectly. Is currently attached to a Microtek
X6EL scanner with a ADF600EL\L document feeder piggybacked on top
and so far so good.

Thus is my story, hope this helps some of you out there.

Regards

Kelly

this card being ISA is not a plug and play device,......windows does it's best to try on it's own to assign settings. but the card does not supply any information to windows. due to this windows will/may use wrong settings

if the card is assigned a IRQ that another device uses, it may or may not have issues.

IO-220, is a the default SOUND CARD IO port

in short, non pnp devices SHOULD ALLWAYS BE MANUALLY SET TO A UNUSED IRQ/IO setting by manually selecting the settings

Note: that some bios's allow you to RESERVE IRQ/IO settings from the pnp available range while others simply require you to select a full Manual mode (all IRQ's manually selected)
