I have 2 Internal Zip100 Drives. One is detected by the IOmegaWare Software just fine, but the other is never found. Both drives work fine when set up in BIOS. Is there some type of Propriatary Zip drive I don't know about that IOmega does not support in there software?

Specs for undetected Zip Drive:

Model: Z100iDE ZIP
P/N: 02871D00
S/N: L4AU2813T9
Code: B29

Assembled in MALAYSIA
with foreign and
USA components

Note: The label has the iomega symbol in the bottom Corner and of course a jumper Diagram.

Usually when master/slave jumper is connected across top of first 2 pins, it's configured as a stand-alone drive, meaning no other drives are connected to same ide cable. When using 2 ide drives on the same ide port, one must be jumpered as master and the other drive as slave. Reconfigure both drive jumpers to this configuration and both should work. Also, make sure the ide port drive/s are connected to is enabled in bios.

I understand how to get IDE Setup. The drive works fine in windows and dos without the IOmegaware, but it need the software so I can lock and protect the zip disks. The IOmegaware software never detects the drive but windows knows it's there.

I had the same problem. I found out there is two types of internal zip 100 drives. one is ide marked as a z100ide zip, bios sets this drive up as a removable hard drive. iomegaware 4.0.2 will not work with this drive but iomegaware 3.1.1 will. the other drive is atapi marked as z100atapi zip, bios sets this drive up like an Ls 120 drive. this drive will work with both iomegaware 4.0.2 and iomegaware 3.1.1. with out iomegware, windows will run both drives as a removable drive. also on the ide drive, the busy light is to the right of the eject button. on the atapi drive, the busy light is the eject button. hope this will help
