I'm trying to reinstall my twain and it keeps asking for my usbscan.sys.
I've tried to reinstall from the disc supplied but it can't find that particular file.
Can anyone give me advice please?

usbscan.sys is included with the Windows XP os. It also written to your hard drive by default during installation. You won't find it looking for USBSCAN.SYS as it's hidden with the driver.cab file. When the file is needed by the system, just insert the XP installation disk or redirect the installation to look for the driver.cab file.

Manual extraction can be done by using msconfig from the run menu EXPAND FILE button .

Why are you unable to retrieve it? You should have this file on 2 seperate disks.

I've tried downloading it from both the Epson and Windows XP discs but when it arrives at the files needed window, it says copy files from C:\EPSON\SCANDRV\TWAIN5.
When I click 'OK' though, nothing happens!!!

I've found it in the system 32 'drivers' file but it still kept denying any access and kept returning to 'copy files from C:\EPSON\SCANDRV\TWAIN5'...again when I clicked 'OK'....nothing.
So I've copied it from the 'drivers' file into 'C:\EPSON\SCANDRV\TWAIN5' and hey presto!!! It's worked!

Thanks for all your help...much appreciated!
