ok i have a smart and friendly cdrw and windows will not install it. i can setup the cdrom from dos to install everything and use it and that works fine. but i keep getting the error win-aspi file not there. i am using nero and it will not find it.
also device manager does not recognize it. it has yellow marks on the ide controllers.
please help!

Your post is lacking adequate details to help you.
1: What Windows os are you running?
2: What Nero version are you using?
When asking for help, it's important to include all details...

Fix the ide port problem and most likely all other problems will disappear. Ide devices cannot work if the ide port doesn't.
