Sound card drivers are required to get a sound card to work...that includes the mike input jack. Installing sound drivers will not make a non-working mike work. You have other problems... like the mike is plugged into the wrong port, mike volume control needs turning up or un-muted, bad mike or mike has wrong connector on the end. If you don't have drivers for the sound device installed, you will have sound output problems as well.

And please take note (so you won't have to ask again), this motherboard has a SIS sound chipset. Why do I feel like I'm talking to a fence post who never responds with a simply thank you or even a simply "OK"?
