bad speaker, dial volume turned down, volume settings are muted, incorrect driver, etc. You didn't say if you need software help or a driver??? If you need a driver, please identify your modem.

fyi, Conexant doesn't make modems, only chipsets. Modem Help Guide (www.driverguide.com/guide2/modem-help.htm)
