The CRW-5224A does not have a "Other" interface, it has an IDE interface. Optical drives never require a driver when used in and Windows os from Windows 95 up. Windows XP contains native support that allows this drive to read a data or music disk and to burn a cd-r disk. What seems to be the problem?

The Asus CRW-533AU does not require a driver either. If you plug it into a working usb port, it should be plug and play. Are you saying when you plug it in that you're being prompted to install a driver?

Do you have SP1 or SP2 installed? If so this will give you USB 2.0 support automatically.
