Asus only supports this motherboard in Windows 98/ME/2000/XP. No Vista drivers are available that I'm aware of.

the same driver posted here: http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=242115

and the chipset maker does not provide drivers to end users (part of their contractual agreement with the vendors)

The only options I'm aware of are these:

1: Use it in a supported os
or
2: wait....... until someone writes vista compatible drivers (hacked or otherwise).
or
3: disable on-board sound and add a Vista compatible pci sound card.

to disable on-board sound, enter pc bios setup and change sound enabled to disabled. Open pc and insert new pci sound card into a pci slot (doesn't apply to laptops) then install driver for new pci sound card.

Yes pc hardware usually requires payment to obtain, no one gives anything away anymore. There are dozens of vista compatible sound cards available from numerous sources, like Ebay.com or MWave.com or Geeks.com

you use one that is new (not an old one) and one that includes drivers for Vista.
