There are Serial ATA (SATA) and Parallel ATA (PATA) devices. I suspect your UJ0840d is a PATA device but since you didn't say......
PATA devices don't require any driver when used in Windows Vista. Please state what the problem is, ie: non-detection, other?

PLZZZZZZZZZZZ HELP! I am having problems with my Matsushita (Matshita Panasonic) uj-840d I am currently using Advent 7088 with software NTI CD&DVD maker gold and every time i go to use it i get driver not supported. I even down loaded NTI 8 but this did not resolve the problem. I can't burn anything.

Has the drive ever work?

At what point do you get "driver not supported"..... or is the message "drive not supported"? Please explain the steps you did to get to this message.

What exactly happened when you installed NTI 8?
