Optical drives never require a driver when used in any Windows os from Windows 95 up. Even scsi drives.....

If you have the driver installed for the scsi controller, the os will detect and automatically install the drive with no user action. That means the scsi controller must be visible in Device Manager and reported as working ok.

What seems to be the problem? details please
