I desperately need a driver for the DVD burner. HELP

no you do not. Optical drives do not require any driver other than what is provided natively by the XP os. Please state what the problem is.

i dont know if gkathieb is suffering the same as me, but i have the same dvd burne and sometimes it burns the dvd, and sometimes dont. i used 2 diferent programs and in both of them i recibed the same message (it says an error ocurred while burning the dvd). and the few time it burns the dvd, i cant see the files that are on the dvd.

sounds like a flaky drive. Only way to know is test it in another machine or have a tech shop check it for you.
