Hey everyone...I have been out of the field for a couple of years and have lost touch....I am looking for a HD in the 100+ GB range...Which ones are reliable now and which ones should I stay away from....I would appreciate any input....

are made by the same reliable companies today as they were 2 years ago... eg: Seagate, Maxtor, Western Digital, etc. Stay away from the generic no-name drives which are usually cheaper than name brands. Most all name brands are as a general rule, built better than they were 2 years ago.

Maxtor has apparently dropped warranty from 3 to 1 year (this was confirmed from Canada)!!!
all others remain good even samsung makes good ones now, but
personally, I prefer "FUJITSU" which has been spinning twentyfive hours a day in my son's gaming machines since sept.1999 without a single bad cluster!!!!......
