It seems that you can no longer purchase a set of recovery disks for the HP Pavilion 8755c with Windows ME .. can anyone tell me where i might be able to download a set? I was given this pc and would like to restore it before using it ... thanks for any help ...

You may find them if your lucky, why dont you just reformat and install a new OS , windows 98 and ME are cheap to buy and probaly cheaper than trying to find the restore cd's for this system!

Even if you reformat and install a new OS (98 or ME), you will need the driver package. You might be able to find some up dates for some of the hardware on HP.com but most ikely not all the drivers. I know, I've been searching for the recovery disks as well. Let me know if you have any luck finding them.

I am looking for the recovery disks as well but alas to no avail... so I have opened the computer to find I have a ASUS MEW-AM motherboard so I am attempting to get the drivers at http://www.asus.com/support/download/item.aspx?ModelName=MEW-AM&Type=Drivers

then I am going to get the name and model/serial numbers from each component (CD-DVD-HD) and search for the drivers as well... it is the only way I have been told to go about it... this project is for a friend and I really do not have much time to devote to it so, If any one has a better way please let me know....

contact me directly at noemailaddys@allowed.com if you have a better suggestion or have a copy of the restore disks thanks..

I have the Recover disks you want for your 8755c. HP won't provide them anymore, so if you would like a copy, post your email and i'll get back to you.
