Why don't you try describing the actual hardware? ie: Atheros, Intel, other? All you gave us to work with is a laptop model....
Note: Toshiba never shipped this machine with Windows XP installed. They only support the Satellite A135-S4467 in Vista operating system. If you want to run Windows XP, buy a machine that supports the os.
Or try describing the hardware and someone might have a chance at helping.

Note: laptops usually require specific drivers from the laptop maker. Attempting to use a generic driver will usually result in a failed install.
If the above drivers fail to work, then scour the Toshiba website to see if there are any similar models that have this NIC and support in Windows XP
