Okay, first of all some extra information

Intel Core 2 Duo T7200, 4MB L2Cache/2GHz/667MHz

Chipset is intel 945PM

Bought from a Japanese company, who for the most part make generic computers notebooks.

RAM is 2GB

I dont know what the interface type is. Apologies

So I received the computer, installed XP the other day, now, it seems it was designed for use with Vista, however, I have no interest in using Vista, and have managed to, as expected find device drivers for the internet and NVDIA GeForce Go 7600 graphics card and most of the other stuff. However, I cannot for the life of me find an internal sound driver. The CD came bundled with a Realtek R1.48 driver which is a made for vista driver. So I tried the latest XP Realtek driver, the R1.49, and then R1.47 and then other drivers and nothing will take hold. A few drivers say they install but no internal sound diver appears in my Sound Options. I even tried the Intel 945PM chipset installer from the Intel site, but nothing else gives. I know the 945PM chipset can work with XP, as the company also sells a similar model with XP (but not as much power in the processor) with the same chipset and the same audio cards it would see. (Intel High Definition Audio). Now ultimately I would like a driver that works within the specs of a high definition environment but if I can at least get any internal driver working that would be fine for now! What on earth could my problem be? (As an aside, I have a USB logitech headset and bluetooth radio earpiece installed in the Sound section, which are my only sound options. It defaulted to the Logitech headset). I tried to get the computer to search for the correct drivers but no dice. I am using an English version of XP. Any ideas? I just want sound! Everything else about the computer is super sweet as far as my needs are concerned!
