Can you please help me?! I upgraded my presario 2195us laptop to vista basic and I cannot find a driver for my soundcard or my ethernet card.

Compaq makes the Presario 2195us (not Conexant). They are the only one who can help you as laptops cannot use generic drivers. If Compaq never shipped this laptop with Vista installed, I'd bet no Vista drivers exist.

Note: we have no clue what sound or ethernet hardware was installed by Compaq in your laptop. Even if you id the hardware, chances are very very slim we could help. Next time buy Gateway, Dell, Sony, or Toshiba. They offer free support online for their machines.
