I just put in a new HD and XP op system. I'm try to open or access 2nd slave hd. Bios sees it, device manager sees it and it also seen in disk management as working normally. Both the master and slave is in ntfs. I have done all the tests @ seagate and disc management and both hds show no problems.
The problem is there is nothing in "My Computer" to access it. No letter designation, nothing.
Any help welcomed.

Start ---> Control Panel ---> Administrative Tools ---> Computer Management --->Disk Management ---> Right click the X drive ---> left click on "Change Drive and Paths. Click on Add or Change to make needed adjustments, click OK.

Jerry Thanks,
I've been there but I don't have that option. I only have "delete partition" or "help". If I right click on the C drive all the options are shown.
Disc 1 is only being showed as a "local disc" w/ no letter designation. Both drives are listed as "Basic", NTFS. Both drives are "Healthy". And C is listed "system" , and Local Disc as "active".

You can assign drive letters using the same steps.

disconnect yours master HD, put the new HD as it will be master, take bootable CD xp, delete partitions if you created and creat a new -> turn off desktop and return the real master on its place. make new HD as a slave with jumper and connect on the motherboard. than you have format both of partition.
