i just upgraded from windows nt to windows 2k. i found an hp printer 695c laying around and hooked it up for first time. plug n play detected hp 690 and installed drivers for it and it didnt work. get error message that device is not connected. i then installed the hp 695c drivers for it and got rid of the hp 690 drivers plug n play installed. stil get same error. i went to device manager and a yellow question mark appeared with the name parallel device. i tried to search for drivers for this on hp cd and drivers on hard disk but with no help. any help is appreciate or generic driver or something to try and get this printer working. thanks.

The only Windows 2000 driver in existance for this model is the one that Microsoft included with the Windows 2000 os. You do not have a choice of installing other drivers because non exist.

Try uninstalling all printer drivers currently installed (be sure non remain), then reinstall the printer using the ADD PRINTERS feature. If your printer port is shown to be working and you have a good printer cable, there is no reason why this printer won't work unless it's defective.
