Jerry K 04-05-2007, 12:10 AM If the seller guaranteed it to work and it doesn't, I'd return it for a refund. ebay is a notorious dumpground for folks who wish to unload their junk to unsuspecting buyers. I personally never heard of the brand and google search shows nothing but junk or non-english speaking websites.
How about a fcc id number or a chipset number and a valid interface type?
chilpillwill 04-10-2007, 05:29 PM I too bought a EDUP 54mps pcmcia wireless lan card off ebay, and the disc doesnt work. It trys to install some kind of Broadcom drivers?? I have installed the drivers for the card, but there is no operating software - so i cant use it. I'm gonna try finding drivers for the broadcom model it specifies in the driver disc
loulou113 04-11-2007, 11:59 PM I have exactly the same problem as you. I bought the same device off ebay and the driver cd doesnt work. Did you manage to find a driver to install or a way to get the device to work?
SteveH 04-21-2007, 03:56 PM I've had the same problem. The adaptor is not as described in the box it came in. Mine is a Gateway WGC-220 Adapter Part Number 6002547. I've downloaded a copy and will try this today. I'll let you know how I get on.
http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/dlcenter.asp
Enter the part number of the box to the right of the screen, click the radio button for part number and search.
Brenno 04-22-2007, 12:02 PM I bought an EDUP Wi-Fi card off eBay too. It was for a Windows 2000 system. The software doesn't work for that either. If you know of anyway around this let me know.
shadehoops 04-24-2007, 09:18 PM I have the same problem... I bought an edup wireless lan card on ebay. First of all the shippment took one month from UK to Spain, and today when I recived the item i tried to install it on my laptop COmpaq presario M700, I get a small CD with drivers and client connection (in the readme said that those drivers where in beta mode...). During the installation appeared a small window saying that this card is not verifyed on microsoft and doesn't have a digital sign or something else... I pressed to continue... after the PC reboot I tried to connect to my Wireless home connection but the client said me that can't find any adappter... I tried too to conect to my neighborhood connection... but again the same... Now I downloaded the drivers which SteveH recommended and let's see if it will work... I will reply againd with the results of the new driver...
Sorry but my english is poor :p
shadehoops 04-25-2007, 01:31 PM Doesn't work...:zombie:
leifp 04-27-2007, 04:25 AM Install this device using the setup.exe on the cd, NOT by attempting to install just thr drivers through device manager and pointing to the winxp directory.
I just installed using the setup.exe and it works fine.
If you don't want to use their management tool just remove it after the proper drivers have been configured.
HamMoto 05-05-2007, 03:59 PM I found a driver that works very well with my IBM Thinkpad 390X running
Windows 98SE. The driver evidently will work on other Windows based
machines as WinME, WinNT4, Win2000, WinXP, Win2003. Go here and check it out:
http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=318094
Evidently the EDUP Lan card is an Atheros based card and the driver works
great on my machine.
Good luck..
leifp 05-06-2007, 02:52 AM Thanks HamMoto,
I think the issue here is that these people have bought a wireless network adapter off e-bay and do not know how to install the drivers before getting angry at the e-bay seller.
I bought one from e-bay and had the same issue, I was trying to install the driver by pointing to the winxp drivers directory on the cd and it was failing.
I then installed using the setup.exe (granted it did install some crap management agent also that i later removed) but it worked fine.
Please people, just think, and try everything before jumping to conclusions and whingeing.
ninjadavid 05-11-2007, 07:25 PM The card displays the name corega wlcb-11 if its the same as mine there is a corega website and the driver is there for you to download

xo-jennie-ox 07-27-2007, 02:47 PM :( Okay I have all of your problems put together as one. I insert the little CD then download it from the Setup.exe on My Computer. Sometimes it comes up something like ''This product has not been registered with Windows so your device may not work properly.'' I click ''Continue Away'' and then at the end it says ''Cannot install this hardware. Click finnish to bring up the troubleshooting menu.'' and the menu doesnt help me at all ! Sometimes I get it working then it stops and starts and loses the connection. Its just a disaster ! Please someone help me !

Where is the setup command then? I have checked every file ion the disc and there doesn't appear to be one.

:director: BUYER BEWARE!! This USB network adapter is a joke.
I too picked this up on eBay, where it was listed as a "802.11g Hi-Gain USB Adapter + Rp-SMA Connector". It ran about half the price as other USB network adapters with external antenna connectors and now I know why.
When Windows XP attempts to install with the Found New Hardware Wizard, it fails every time saying that the driver may be "corrupt or missing. (Code 39)". When trying to install from the SETUP.EXE installer included on the CD-ROM they shipped I get a CRC error during installation, which says that the ZDWlan.exe doesn't match the file in the setup's .cab file. ! Are we all dealing with the same piece-of-trash adapter here? The FCC ID on mine says PANWL2203S.
Lesson learned. I will be buying an Edimax EW-7318USg / Hawking HWUG1 instead. I tip my hat off to anyone who managed to get this EDUP garbage to function under Windows XP, their drivers are a JOKE.
CrOhN 09-04-2007, 07:31 PM You can tip your hat off. Here is what i've done: After getting all the problems described here, i instaled diferently.
Execute the setup from the cd first
Plug the adapter
After getting the error of hardware not instaled and corrupted driver
Right click on the adapter on device manager tha has the exclamation mark.
Click update driver
Select "No, not at this time"
Next
Select "Install from a specific location"
Next
Select "Don't search. I will chose the driver to install"
Next
And select "EDUP IEEE 802.11b+g USB adapter"
Next
and "Continue anyway"
And the adapter works just fine, including the management software that isn't such a piece of crap.. It's simple, but it works.
Hope that this helps everyone.

bulldog088 09-10-2007, 02:01 PM I bought a EDUP 54M High-Gain Wireless USB adapter on ebay and it works very good. There is no any error messages while installing. It is really cheap but with excellent performance.
DanDowftm 09-12-2007, 06:43 PM Hi all,
Ive just recieved one of the EDUP Wireless USB Adaptors today but when installing it asks me to insert the disk named 'Sample Driver Disk 1' which i never recieved. The only disk i got was the small one with only the word 'Driver' wrote on it.
Has anyone managed to get this to work yet?
JohnCare 10-05-2007, 10:52 AM I bought a EDUP 802.11g Adapter from Ebay
CD did not work, no autorun
Extracted files & could not find any file like setup or .exe
My solution was
Take out all my USB connectors
Reboot PC / Laptop
When computer running, (I hv Win XP),
i put adapter into USB socket
New hardware recognised
inserted CD, it found right drivers automatically
I was able to get both my laptops, up & running in abt 30 minutes after a wasted start trying to use CD/Autorun
chilpillwill 10-16-2007, 05:13 PM Well, i just thought id let you all know, i installed the drivers on my win2k system and they didnt work properly but i decided that id run my bt wireless setup anyway and after ages of trying it worked! and the internet was fine and works fast i also get a good signal. So if all else fails, use your isp's software. :hdspin: :gabby: :) :disturbed

AussieRodney 11-26-2007, 11:06 AM It tries to install some kind of Broadcom drivers.
Yep. 2 types of EDUP card I have installed so far, both bought on eBay AU, both came with an install mini CD, both work really well. Purchased from http://stores.ebay.com.au/Infoserver-Online-Store
PCI - the driver identified itself as Broadcom, XP Device Manager calls it a Broadcom Network Adaptor.
PCMCIA - the driver identified itself as RaLink. So far, it's running better than the Netgear adaptor it's replacing.
Both drivers have been uploaded to this site & are awaiting approval.
Jerry K 11-27-2007, 05:59 AM links are priceless!
AussieRodney 11-27-2007, 07:34 AM Yep, now that they've been approved.
PCI:

PCMCIA:

Jerry K 11-27-2007, 05:27 PM approval is not necessary for links... it's only required before links become valid and downloadable. Links are available immediately after uploading is finished.

HilLiao 08-23-2008, 06:01 PM If you have a EDUP PCI wireless adapter, the driver is available for XP users at a HP's website (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=473038&swItem=ob-55706-1&mode=4&idx=3). The chip is probably the following:
Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN
Broadcom 802.11a/b/g WLAN
Broadcom 4321AG 802.11a/b/g/draft-n Wi-Fi Adapter
bird1 08-27-2008, 07:51 PM i was lucky enouph to buy one of these two, driver disc did not work , the disk supplied is for the wrong chipset. after 3 days of messing with this card mine turns out to be a texas instruments chip not broadcom, raylink. take the cover off the chip and then take the card off the pci card underneath is the chipset.. this driver and monitor worked excellent 1st try

Jerry K 09-12-2008, 11:29 PM Which chipset does it contain?
maxtor_dude 10-12-2008, 06:09 AM I bought the EDUP PCMCIA card off ebay as well and the supplied CD was useless. I'm running Windoze 2000. The CD driver points to Ralink (chip manufacturer?), however Unknown Device Identifier mentions it's a Broadcom chip.
After some intense searching, I found the correct drivers for this card:
http://www.driverhub.net/public/drivers/
After installation, the Device Manager is listing the card as Broadcom 802.11g Network Adapter.
Hopefully it will do the trick for you too.

joeblogggs 11-29-2008, 09:26 AM Hi to everyone who is having issues here,
I'm running windows XP sp3. The way I got it to work (and it does work perfectly) is very easy.
Go to Device manager to update the driver. Start the hardware update wizard.
Select "Install from a list or specific location"
Select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install"
Select "Network Adaptor"
Select "802.11g Wireless PCI card"
This will install what I suppose is windows's standard driver, which works fine! But windows being full of BS it will tell you it doesn't like the idea and give you a horrible warning. Don't listen to that, install it anyway. there is nothing wrong with it. Hope this helps someone.

If you insert this card into a Vista Laptop, you don't need the driver. Just make sure the pc is connected
to the internet e.g. via wired Ethernet connection, and allow Windows Update to automatically download
and install the driver and it will work.
joeblogggs 11-30-2008, 02:17 PM Please ignore my last post. That driver stopped working very quickly.
I have the PCI card. I took the cover off it and underneath is a mini-PCI card plugged into an adaptor. It is rusty and looks like a piece of crap! As Bird1 said, it is a Texas Instruments chip. But the link Bird1 posted doesn't actually have the driver, just the management software.
The driver is here:
http://www.wireless-driver.com/driver/ti_TNETW1130GVF%20.rar
However, windows doesn't recognise the driver so you have to choose it manually.
If you don't know how, here's how:
Go to device manager. Select the network controller from the list and click update driver.
Select "Install from a list or specific location"
Select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install"
Select "Network Adaptor"
Click "Have disk" button
Browse to the folder containing the driver you just downloaded
Select the file TNET1130.inf, click open, then OK
Select "EDUP 802.11g Wireless PCI card" and click next.
Ignore all the silly warnings
The drivers will now be installed! Happy use of your cheap ****** ebay network card!!
ibenam 12-14-2008, 03:27 AM :furious: HI
ive had the misfortune of purchasing this wireless card like others off ebay.
ive managed to install the card and the drivers (i think) as the green light on the card is lit up.
However i cannot find the utility for it to actually be able to search for a wireless connection!
im using windows 2000 so not as easy as XP
Furthermore all i get are the lan icon on my taskbar which says my lan connection is unplugged.
Any ideas how i can get it to connect to the internet now that i have got the drivers working"!?

Jazza59 01-20-2009, 08:25 AM My driver cd came with no setup.exe
I'm able to install a driver, and create a wireless connection with my girlfriend's MAC in Ad-Hoc mode.
I'm unable to create an access point for my PSP to connect to, and it is frustrating me to the endth degree. I think I need an updated driver or something, but I can't find any that work.. I've tried several, but I'm not sure what the chipset is.
The driver that is installed is called iodata Airport 802.11b Wireless USB Adapter.
I purchased the thing off ebay. It has PSP-Link written on it, and is supposed to work just by plugging it in.
There should be a way to make the usb adapter perform as an access point, and despite the numerous guides I have followed, there's always something that I can't do, which I put back to inferior drivers.
Any help would be much appreciated.
laidlaw2000 03-21-2009, 05:14 PM Hi, I've just purchased an EDUP wireless lan pcmcia adapter on ebay but cannot get it to work. I've read all of this thread but none of the solutions or downloads have worked for this particular card and the driver disk that came with it does not work. There is no setup.exe either just a folder with a driver in it that isn't recognised as matching the hardware, when I install this supplied driver (Cnet Wireless Network Adaptor) the device cannot start (code10).
Details off the card -
EDUP 54Mbps/11Mbps Wireless lan card wpa-psk IEEE802.11b/g
FCC ID: HEDWN3306A2ACC
NI3-2511CD-PLUS
Thanks in advance

spica 05-01-2009, 09:00 PM I also bought an EDUP pcmcia card from eBay, with the same results, even after the vendor tried a 2nd set of drivers. Some judicious disassembly proved the chipset to be an ISL3880, and a search showed that Netgear WG511 v1 uses the same chipset. Using the driver from Netgear's site http://kb.netgear.com/app/products/model/a_id/2568 the card configured correctly and now runs perfectly.
Hope this helps someone else.
jaquesmid 05-29-2009, 10:29 PM I got one but my machine can't or won't read the disk.
Is there any drivers out there for it? Better still can anyone tell me why either my cd drive or my dvd drive will not read this stupid little disk?
bcast 06-11-2009, 10:03 AM i got a usb wifi from ebay with an edup cd also
i plugged the stick in, and the laptop automatically detected n installed it but it didn't work
next i tried installing the drivers from the cd.
still the windows 'Wireless Network Connection' would not connect. It would detect the networks but would have "limited or blah connectivity"
so after an hr of messing with it, rolling back drivers, uninstalling, reinstalling, rebooting. etc etc... i got it to work!
I dunno if anyone else posted positive results but here's what I did and hopefully it will for you too :D
Instructions:
1) Install the 'Wireless LAN Utility' that the cd provided.
2) Once installed, double-clicked the icon in the tray.
3) Under the 'Site Survey' tab, locate your network (essid) and click the 'Join' button
4) Enter your Network Key and verify
FINALLY, your WIFI should take off!
God bless, Hope this helps!!!!

metalwyrm 09-18-2009, 12:30 AM Hey guys, I have an edup wireless lan 11Mbps on this old dell laptop (c600).
After combing through this thread, I even found the drivers for "corega wl-pccl"
installed drivers, and.... nothing lol
I tried what crohn suggested, but couldn't find the driver at the end
so, I thought of something... went into device manger (control panel->system->device manager)
deleted the driver "corega wl-pccl-11", restarted the laptop, and when WinXP loaded up, it said to install new hardware
and then just followed crohn's steps
You can tip your hat off. Here is what i've done: After getting all the problems described here, i instaled diferently.
Execute the setup from the cd first
Plug the adapter
After getting the error of hardware not instaled and corrupted driver
Right click on the adapter on device manager tha has the exclamation mark.
Click update driver
Select "No, not at this time"
Next
Select "Install from a specific location"
Next
Select "Don't search. I will chose the driver to install"
Next
And select "EDUP IEEE 802.11b+g USB adapter"
Next
and "Continue anyway"
And the adapter works just fine, including the management software that isn't such a piece of crap.. It's simple, but it works.
Hope that this helps everyone.

Your link is no good. Stop posting it or try posting a working link.
Doc_Martin 11-15-2009, 10:16 AM I too bought an EDUP wireless card and the supplied mini cd did not even work. Spent hours looking and found the solution. Thanks to FidelCastrol.

So, go into your devices manager, and do a right click on the new hardware. Then click "Properties". Go into the "Details" tab, or something like that (usually the 4th one, starting from left).Once in there, select the second option in the drop list, and you should see something like PCI\VEN_XXXX&DEV_YYYY.Go to www.pcidatabase.com and enter into "vendor search" the XXXX values. It will bring you to a new page, select the manufacturer, and look for the YYYY value. It should give you the chipset. Now go use google to find some compatible drivers :-)
The driver that works is this one: http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=1316252 it is the Broadcom Driver.iso 11.6mb. Worked immediately it was opened.
Enjoy!!
