Of course it was. But you said that it is not compatibile with Windows XP either, which is wrong.

So I'm sure you're one of the fortunate few who have one that ever worked properly in Windows XP? Everyone who does, say aye, then show proof... not just some links. Who in their right mind would waste a minute trying? It's a well known fact that parallel port scanners (with exception to Acer who took the time to actually write working XP drivers and provide instructions on how to use them) do not work well with XP. So your feable attempt at $hitting a $hitter has no merit. When I read at least 10 posts where you have made actual attempts at helping other members, I might change my mind.

I don't want to help any other members in looking for drivers, because I'm not expert in hardware drivers. If I were, I wouldn't have ask for help there, but I would help myself. The only thing I know is that this scanner works on Windows XP, but on Windows Vista does not. What kind of proof do you want? Screenshot is enough? PS Actually making this scanner to work on Windows Vista is quite important, so researching about its drivers is not loosing of time for me. On Windows XP I'm using it successfully for 5 or 4 years (I don't remember exactly) and now I want to run it on Windows Vista.

That's a nice screenshot of a 1200 III EP working in Windows XP. That's not a 9639 P. The 1200 III EP is a bit newer scanner.

No. It is ScanMagic 9636 P working with Mustek 1200 III EP driver.

I have the exact same problem and I can not find a driver that works in Vista. I think that the only solution is to buy a new scanner.

By the way, the 9636P works perfectly in XP using the 1200 III EP driver for Windows 2000. It is what I used until I decided to upgrade to Vista.
