If you are tired of windows me blue screening or locking up or just running funky and crashing after installing games ,try my advise and install windows ME in the following order.I dont know why this installation works but it does and windows ME will run games that before would crash ,blue screen, and damage the operating system.this installation will only work with the upgrade version of windows ME.to take advantage of this FIX you must have or have access to the following.
1. windows 95 cd, the full version.
2. windows 98, the upgrade version only.
3. windows ME, the upgrade version only.

Here is how it works.First you must re format your hard-drive as you would in any other fresh operating system installation.be sure to back-up all drivers before you do this.Next you just install the operating systems in the following manner.

1.install the full version of windows 95......p.s it has to be the full version.
2.install the upgrade version of windows 98 p.s. it has to be the upgrade version only AND YOU MUST CHOOSE OR CLICK NO ON THE INSTALLATION PROMPT THAT SAYS DO YOU WANT TO SAVE YOUR EXISTING FILE SYSTEM,ALWAYS CHOOSE NO.NO.NO.
3.Install your windows ME upgrade disk....it has to be the upgrade version only.during installation you will be prompted or asked DO YOU WANT SAVE YOUR EXISTING FILE SYSTEM ,CLICK NO always click on NO NO NO and finish installing windows ME.
After windows ME is installed in this manner it will run like it was ment to run.
I have performed this installation for manny of my friends and relatives and it fixed all their windows ME problems.the installation must be done exactly as stated earlier .you cannot do the installation in any other order or manner and get the same results.
SO ENJOY YOUR NEW WINDOWS ME EXPERIENCE.

The strangest story I've ever heard. The full install version of Windows ME has never given me any problems after installing it on numerous pc's ranging from Pentium 200 mhz to 2.8gig Intel machines. I've had small problems with some AMD machines but it was minor (and fixable without extreme fixes) . While your method may have worked for you, I believe I'll stay with my method...the Microsoft suggested method... a fresh/clean install of Windows ME. and besides WHO wants Windows ME on their machine after such a smart/user friendly/non-crashing/non-blue screening/feature loaded os like XP has arrived on the scene? :hail:
