USB drives are plug and play in Windows XP. They only require a working usb port.

Of course it usually self installs, but if it was working properly, then, I personally, would not be looking for a driver in the first place... I have seen this response in so many forums when people are looking for a driver... If Windows was working correctly and it installed as intended, then people would not come here (or anywhere) asking for a driver...since Windows is as flaky as it is, there a many configurations that will not allow it to self-install and it must be forced with a manufacturer driver...

make sense?

Not exactly....
Name a few of the "configurations" you speak of that prevents the drive from self-installing.

Where is this miracle driver that you speak of? I would very much like to see it, so give us all a url!

And why are you hijacking member "cjsa's" thread?
