#1: The SD-R2512 does not have a scsi interface, it has IDE.

#2: It is not a dvd reader/cd-rom, it's a CDRW/DVD combo.

Windows XP has native support that allows this drive to read a data or music disk and burn a cd-r disk. Compatible dvd decoding software allows it to read a dvd disk.

Jerry, I have this Toshiba DVD-ROM SD R 2512 in my laptop that has just quit being recognized by the computer. It is physically spinning, but is not being recognizing that I have a disk in the drive. How can I restore it?

It contains instructions on the delete the upper and lower filters fix

Also, there is a STICKY posted in this forum that contains a file from Microsoft and instructions that will do this registry edit automatically instead of having to do it manually.
