MACHINE BOOTS UP TO INSTALL SERVER 2003 BUT WILL NOT RECOGNIZE HARD DRIVE. I DONT KNOW IF I NEED A DRIVER OR SCZI CONTROLLER OR WHAT. MACHINE WAS GIVEN TO ME AND IBM SITE IS NOT WORKING. I NEED HELP ON MOUNTING THE DRIVES SO THE IBM SERVER WILL SEE ATLEAST ONE HARD DRIVE.

I was pointed to this link,

and you are under the impression that taking a CDROM image (.img) which is used to make a bootable or data cdrom disk is going to help you with detecting/formatting a IDE HARD DRIVE just how???

this is a SERVER, not a workstation system. and as such most likely has a SCSI drive(s) installed. if so the system is low level formated from the SCSI cards BIOS during boot. (this is not the same as the motherboard bios) after low level formatting/partitioning the scsi drive is high level prep/format is done using the OS commands to do so (dos or windows) once high level format is done you start the OS install and if the scsi card drivers are not included with windows you press F6 when prompted during the initial install and place the scsi cards driver disk in the floppy drive and follow the windows prompts.

we don't know which twit pointed you to the cdrom image link!!!

but you want the driver link for a netinfinity 5600 system (duh!)

or....

this system is NOT a system for a novice to install/setup/configure!!!!

Get help from a skilled IT/support person such as a local computer shop.
do not let people who run home based systems attempt to setup configure a server on this system you need to know how to configure a scsi based setup!!!

BTW: i do know that this system does come with a ultra160 scsi setup. and w2003 does have builtin drivers, but not for the RAID mode of this card.
