USB optical drives do not require a driver. It's a plug and play device in Windows XP providing your have a working usb port. You didn't say so I can't tell if your usb port is working or not. Only you can determine that by looking in Device Manager. Or if you care to state what the problem is, perhaps we can offer some help.
