I have downloaded the driver which is supposed to allow my scanner to work with windows XP. But alas it does not.
The download will not work untill i have the software already in my PC.
But my PC will not install the software off the disc because it is incompatible with XP.
Its a classic catch 22.
Has anyone managed to get the scanjet 3200C to work with windows XP ?

You must install the PrecisionScan LT software/driver v2.0 first (40.20 mb.) Then if you have a "scanner not found" issue, you must use the XP update for that. Both files are posted on hp website (link below) :hdspin:

Thanx very much Jerry.
The download worked a treat and my scanner is now happy to work with XP.

I am having troubles finding the driver for this scanner on the HP site - I have the disc and it won't work with XP Pro. I've gotten my first new computer in TEN years, and I don't use the scanner often, but I do use it. (Scanjet 3200c). Is HP no longer supporting this scanner? (wouldn't surprise me since it's so old - but that would be a bummer - the old printer I have works with XP, wish I could figure out how to get the scanner to work too....

Neil didn't have any problem finding the driver or making it work.

that was 4 1/2 years ago too..... I was on the HP site for well over an hour looking and doing the search - could not find how to make it work...... My guess is that they no longer support it, so took it off the site?
