i am looking for a system recovery disk for a acer aspire 5166sr when i aquired it the hd was gone and my friend need a computer for the internet.

help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have windows operating system on a disk and the necessary software all you need is a startup disk. Win98/ME. And a CDRom drive

This system is very old. I don't think Acer sells the recovery CDs. Even if they did the latest OS was Win95.
An OEM or retail install of Windows ME may be your best choice.

Legacy System Information here. Will help find drivers needed after OS install, chipset drivers ect.

You will need the system part number. Should be on the case.
