I am trying to install a new Lexmark Z23 printer on my mother's pc. The printer is litterally straight out of the box, new. The usb cord is new. Everything is fine. Nothing is wrong with the printer. We even went and switched the printers at the store. This is try #3 with a printer. The walmart that we got it from is VERY stupid. This is the only printer they sell. (Not counting those 3 in 1 deals.) The computer is an HP. It is 4 months old. She has Windows XP Home Edition, 30.24 GB of memory.
Every time I try to install the printer, it says that the computer can not find the printer. However, if I unplug the usb cord it makes this little noise recognizing that something was unpluged. Any one have any clue as to what is happening? Why it won't install?
Thanks and much love.
