THIS dvd ROM DRIVE DOES NOT RECOGNISE DVD-ROMS! It plays Cd roms fine, but not the SIMS2 Pets DVD rom! Have tried LG website and others with no luck. Do I need new drivers? Please help

you need to install or reinstall your dvd decoding software, eg: WinDVD or PowerDVD. It's necessary in order to play dvd disks. Windows provides the support needed to play data or music disks but dvd disks require the decoder software.
