Your statement doesn't make any sense. If you have a free account (where?) then what was the problem? No payment is required to download a driver on driverguide.com... all that's required is registration and that's free. So don't keep us in the dark.... state where you went where a payment was required?

And how did you know to look under "A2S"? You certainly gave us no indication what pc it was for. AC97 isn't normally related to modems.... it's a term given to most all sound devices.
