I have several Matsushita DVD-RAM Drives of Model LF-D291. Due to some technical Reasons I have to attached them to the Windows2003 Server Machines.

So far I have not found single driver for Windows2003 for this model.

If anyone can help or tell any workaround for installation with Windows2003, I will be highly appreciable. I need this thing on extreme urgent basis.

Thanks and Regards

Mani

Optical drives do not require a driver in any Windows os from 95 up. We can't help unless you provide some details other than to say read the posts in this forum.

SCSI drives do require a properly installed and working scsi controller, proper connection & termination of the scsi chain.....

First of all sorry for one mistake. This drive is > 2 years old.

Now the problem is that it is detected by windows2003 Server but as a CDROM while in our current scenario with Windows2000 Server it is running as DVD-RAM Disk Drives. This DVD-RAM Disk Drive option is available if we load the software came with these DVD-RAM Drives.

Now there are few things to consider.

1. Our software will format them with NTFS/UDF2.0 File system and than starts writing data onto them.

2. If I use the normal detected optical drive it can only format with FAT32 which is not required as we need file security onto the written data.

3. Now the software which came with these DVD-RAM Drives only contain the software for Windows95, 2000,Me, XP. I need the software for Windows2003 Server.

I hope now the things are clear to you....

With Best Regards

Mani

If you need software, visit the many online software sellers or your local software retail store. We cannot provide you with copyrighted software and since drivers are not required.......

Normally any recording software that works in Windows 2000/XP will also work in Windows 2003. If it won't then I'd have a discussion with my software maker.

You must remember, the Windows 2003 server operating system doesn't provide any burning support. That support must come from the burning application.

I think there is still some misunderstanding.

The software I am talking about will convert the detected DVD-RAM DRIVE to DVD-RAM DISK DRIVE. This thing is done by the software which was provided by Matsushita with these DVD-RAM Drives and strange thing is it supports all the Microsoft Operating Systems except Windows2003.

So rightnow burning is not my issue. I need the software which should support the Windows2003 as well.

For your reference you can also see the following URL

This shows the software for WindowsXP. I need the same for Windows2003.

Thanks and Regards

No, I understand perfectly. We do not post or provide copyrighted recording software for our members or guest. There's a hugh difference in software and drivers.

I suggest you contact your device vendor or manufacturer to inquire about recording software that might be compatible with your operating system.
