i can only find firmware for this drive. I need the actual windows drivers that are updated so that i can watch dvd's.

DVD drives (nor any optical drive) never require a driver when used in any Windows os from 95 up. The os provides native support that allows this drive to read a data or music disk. Compatible dvd decoding software like WinDVD or PowerDVD provides the support required to read/play a dvd disk.
