Driver Needed For Hp Dvd Writer 630e (windows 98)

I doubt HP meant for this USB drive to be used in Windows 98 operating system. However, the only way to know is visit their website and look.

Note: We do not know who made the usb enclosure... unless HP has a 98 driver posted, you need to describe the usb enclosure as it's the only thing that requires a driver. Windows doesn't care what drive is installed.

They have windows 2000 & xp's...

or u try to upgrade it? or dun wan? or mayb change the writer...

huh? What are you talking about? Changing the writer won't do anything... Windows doesn't care what writer is in the usb 2.0 enclosure. If your going to post here, please use proper english words and complete sentences. Otherwise no one can understand what you're saying.

HP doesn't post anything other than firmware upgrades available on their website. And if you use this drive in Windows ME, 2000, or XP, no driver is required. It will not work in Windows 98 without a proper usb 2.0 driver and connection to a USB 2.0 port. If you use a USB 1.1 port (commonly available on older motherboards and pc systems), it will work but at greatly reduced transfer speeds. Otherwise Windows 98 cannot detect there is a drive present.
