You shouldn't need a driver. My Dell USB keyboard is supported natively by the operating system, eg: Windows XP. For extra functions to work, you will need a driver but you shouldn't for just the regular keys to work. Is it not detected automatically? If not that sorta indicates you have a usb port problem. Is the usb port reported working ok by Device Manager?

The keyboard works but I'd like to access the extra functions if at all possible.

Sorry, I misunderstood your original post. Can you say if this keyboard came with a particular NEC pc system/model? If you know the model of the pc system it came with that might make it easier to locate the driver to enable your extra keys.

I picked it up at a resale shop and have no information as to it 's origin.
