Opticals drives never require a driver when used in Windows XP os, support that allows this drive to read a data or music disk is provided natively the the os, The only difference is, you must installed the pcmcia socket properly. That is done with drivers either from the device manufacturer or from the device vendor. If you are unable to locate a driver for the pcmcia port then try using the port services included with the os. I got a member going last week using this technic.
