Packard Bell didn't make this scanner, Mustek did. Packard-Bell-UK (support.packardbell.com/uk/item/index.php?i=6929290000&pi=platform_scannerdiamond1200plus) only provides drivers for Windows XP. However, you might try the drivers that Mustek posts:

What file did you download? Was it for Windows 9x & Windows ME?

try to fool it by modifying the INI file using notepad or other text editor. Change the "Windows NT" line to read "Windows x86", "Chicago", or perhaps "Windows ME".... I don't have one to test it on... sorry.

Hi me again.I downloaded the drivers.then when I brought it up.I was told the must be run on windows NT also trying to get up other files as well which are zip files and the same message came up..but I have been able in the past to get these files up.what is NT ? what needs to be done.?oh dear this could take some time. Thanks for being so patient

What is NT? Any os like Windows NT4.0, 2000, or XP

They are all referenced as "Windows NT operating systems"

The only method I'm aware of is to do as I suggested earlier and try to fool this os by modifying the INI files, using any text editor like Notepad, to make it think it's for an os other than NT.

Without the scanner and/or the files, I'm unable to test or state exact specs for you. It almost sounds like you didn't download the proper driver file.

Not a 9x/ME driver. When you get that message, that means it's a 2K/XP driver.

If the file you downloaded is in ZIP or RAR format, it must be uncompressed before attempting to install. You can only install EXE or INF files.

No, you cannot buy drivers unless someone has them for sale. Nothing is wrong with your pc, you must have the proper driver first. btw, what driver are you trying to install? What is it's filename? Where (url)?
