I have got an external yamaha CD-R/RW, but have lost the driver.
I now want to install the device on my new laptop via firewire and need the driver.
Please help.

Firewire drives are plug & play in Windows XP. The only requirement is a working firewire port. Apparently, your FW port is not working (or you have a bad drive). Did you check in Device Manager to see if the FW port is ok? Have you tested the drive on another pc that has a working firewire port?
