interface is ide. If it "read and burns everything", why are you asking for a driver? Optical drives never require a driver when used in Windows XP.

Reading a data or music disk and burning a cd-r disk support is native (built-in) to Windows XP. It does not provide cd-rw burn support or reading or playing a dvd disk. For those 2 tasks, compatible recording and dvd decoding software is required.

That's because when I try to burn a video into a dvd cd, it says either ''No recorder found'' or No Recorder.. or something like that. I can burn music and files. But I can't burn movies. But I can watch DVD movies. So I think that I do need a driver since my computer doesn't recognize it, or the program doesn't recognize it or something.

non-recognition of a drive by the recording software means you need compatible recording software. eg: the version your using doesn't support your drive. Upgrade or buy newer software.

Easy Cd Creator must be version 5.x (or higher) to be compatible with XP. Check the Roxio website to see if an update is available that will provide support for your particular drive.
