Driver for a Samsung MagicLan Wireless Compact Flash 802.11b/g (54mbps)Network Card. The Samsung MagicLan site is closed and I am unable to track them down elsewhere. All Windows operating systems would be great if available, including versions of CE (Pocket PC, 2002, 2003 etc. These cards have an external arial connection and when working an excellent card. I have several of these but they are useless without the proper drivers. Apparently they can and have been used on Linux based systems for "wardriving" using a version of the driver that WAS on the MagicLan site.

Did you try contacting Samsung to ask them if they have drivers?

Have attempted to contact Samsung to no avail (they have not responded to my email requests, nor even bothered to acknowlegde them) and quite frankly I am very annoyed at the level of support offered by Samsung (ZERO). If anyone has one of these cards and have drivers please let me know by posting on this board or leaving a link to where they CAN be obtained.

This driver has been searched for by many members and none of them had any success in locating this driver. You can read an almost identical thread here:
http://forums.driverguide.com/showthread.php?t=21724
It's been discussed and discussed and searched... but no driver file has been located.

Can you clarify? There are 3 files posted there, one zip file and 2 cab files. And the instructions don't make much sense.

Use Samsung MagicLAN SWL-2610c on DELl Axim X5
install SamsungCopyDriver.CAB, install PPC2003_Installshield_0.76.zip from desktop
through USB cable
go to windows folder of DELL and find file like 'SAMSUNG Electro-Mechanics SAMSUNG WLAN
11g CF Adapter' as adapter name then insert SWL-2610c CF Card.

Sorry I did not clarify it before. It did take me some playing to figure out what exactly the post on ebay was talking about. Let me try to make a better how-to:
This is for a Dell Axim X5 with Windows Mobile 2003. I do not have access to one with WM2002 so I cannot tell you if this will work for it. I know it is possible to upgrade WM2002 to WM2003 on the axim, but that is for a different guide. (You can get the Dell CD off of ebay pretty cheap for that)
Step 1: Download these 3 files (all are needed), I do not know how reliable this source is, however the downloads have been available for over a year now.
http://members.fatalpunishers.com/Bartek/PPC2003_Installshield_0.76.zip
http://members.fatalpunishers.com/Bartek/SAMSUNG_WLAN_11g_CF_Adapter.PPC420_2577.cab
http://members.fatalpunishers.com/Bartek/SamsungCopyDriver.CAB
Step 2: Unzip and run the install in PPC2003_Installshield_0.76.zip, Sync with the axim after.
Step 3: Copy "SAMSUNG_WLAN_11g_CF_Adapter.PPC420_2577.cab" to your Axim and launch it from the File Browser to install. Click yes to replace.
Step 4: Copy "SamsungCopyDriver.CAB" to your Axim and launch it from the File Browser to install. Click yes to replace. (I know this seems redundant, but I have not been able to get the card to work without all 3)
Step 5: Insert the CF card and wait for it to display the message about an unrecognized card. Manually enter "Samsung MagicLAN SWL-2610c" into the box and click ok. (On one axim I had to enter "swld26c.dll" before it would work. That is the direct driver file.)
At this point your card should be functional. There is some delay at times before the cards starts to function, you should be able to tell if when you get it right, the blue light on the CF card lights up. When the card is working you can connect to networks by going to Start -> Settings -> Connections -> Wireless Ethernet
I might also mention that this card only supports WEP encryption. There is no way that I know of to use AES with it.

Thanks very much for the clarification. I'm sure other members will appreciate it as well.
