I have been told that USB is not compatable with NT 4.0. Is that true or is there a patch or a program that lets it work. Any help would be great.

NT 4.0 is possible with USB! It will cost you some money ($39.95 US)
USB for Windows NT 4.0 does not support:
Scanners
Cameras

Look for a file called R62200.EXE on the net it is a driver for DELL laptops and USB, it works on Memory sticks and external HDD (tested my self).
