Hi everyone
I'm suffering from a freezing problem mainly when running Word 2000 while typing
Or surfing the net when the site have a flash item but in various site also

I'm running win y2k pro with the latest update sp4 and ie 6.0.2800...
I sometime after reboot if it has been instantly after the freeze (no full shutdown(
I have a boot problem and my HD not recognize but immediate full shutdown and every thing is ok

Also I use a USB ADSL modem and the USB port consume 500mA as it show in my hardware detail in the win comp management but after the freeze and reboot the operation system not always load if I didn’t disconnect the phone line first to the bootup (probably there is some memory in the modem)

As I previously say I have 2 HD and now 1 CD I use 2 funs more then the 1 came with the CPU

I suspect this is a power problem yesterday I encounter that after a while the mouse starts not to responding naturally but in delays so I check the process that the system idle process run an interrupt request 11 (the USB one) every few second and use allot of the CPU resource so I unplugged my fun and it seem that the problem was gone but I suffer a freeze later a gain

My machine detail

care to explain the memory settings?.....HMMMMMM, a dead giveaway that anyone who can add/subtract can plainly see is not correct.

you have 256 installed total but the system reports a installed memeory of 96 megs.

this is a clear sign of improper memory modules used.

simply because 1 module fits into the slot does not mean that it is made for the board.

Later memory chips (ie-current) found on modules are not compatable with early memory controllers found with a early board such as yours which uses the intel "LX" chipset.

remove the 128meg module. i suspect that it is a single sided module (chips only on one side) you need to use a 128meg module with chips on both sides, with this motherboard and the position of this module should be in the FIRST memory bank

also note that defective memory can also give random problems.
