I think your scanner is too old too. Olympus states "No software is available at this time".

I was a bit sorry to see the rather negative comment from a representative from Olympus. The ES10 scanner has been a brilliant little tool. It deals well with scanning transparancies of 35mm film. The hardware has obviously outlasted the software and Olympus should really have updated their drivers to keep up with the development of XP at least. The next problem will be finding that parallel ports have disappeared, so by then they will be able to sell us a new scanner. Until that time, they should perhaps do the decent thing and update their software.

And where did you arrive at the conclusion I was a representative of Olympus? I have no association with Olympus and since I'm the only one that posted, I must assume that remark was directed at me. If I had association with Olympus, I would be here answering #$%%$# posts from folks who don't understand why parallel port scanners are not supported, as a general rule, in Windows XP. It's yesterdays technology.... just like PCMCIA. Neither are being made as of several months (if not years) ago. USB has made both obsolete.

And where do you get the notion that manufacturers are responsible for keeping you supplied with software for modern operating systems for years after a product has been discontinued? They don't and won't.... so get over it and buy hardware designed for Windows XP. Or use the device in a supported operating system.
