i am reparing a compaq pc for a freind there hard drive died no power nothuing .
I'm replacing it for them for free they had there oem recovery disk'
except for disk three,
compaq said that they would have to replace all the disk
is there a web site that i can goto to get or download disk 3
for the recovery disk?

I doubt it since that's copyrighted material. Aren't you an honest fellow and abide by copyright laws? You might get some member who has one to copy it and send it to you... if someone does, I'm sure they will speak up.

Yes i'm a honest person they brought me a bot leg copy of xp and i broke it and gave it back to them and told them i want the original recovery disk that came with it and somehow they lost the disk 3 i can order the disk thur hp
it's just i've had this thing going on 3weeks now and was trying to get a copy fast than they can deliver so i can get it out of my way.
I'm backed up now cause of all the new virus's and key loggers that are out and the people are not awhere or not smart enough to take the time and educate them self's on the process it take's to keep a pc up and running.

I see your point and agree with you 100%. Recovery and other disks that come with a system are like keys to your lock box in the bank (and that's where some folks that can't seem to keep up with them should put them).

Point is, loose your disks for a factory built pc and your in trouble. That's why I only buy and use custom pc's. They come with disks and if you loose them it's no trouble to go to the manufacturers website to get a replacement or upgraded driver. HP and Compaq are among the worst to get... HP want's money to help you and unless you pay them, you won't get it unless your lucky enough to find someone who has a copy and is willing to send it to you.
