I have certified xp installation
All the updates from MS site
Normally when we start the computer, is does not stop at the welcome screen
Just boots to the windows desk top, no pass word is used on the computer
No other user accounts, no guest accounts
Today when we turned on the computer
It started at the welcome screen, with my wife’s name & icon
When she clicks the icon under the icon it will say loading your personal settings
Then flash to the desk top 1 sec or less
Then will flash back to the back to the welcome screen with the icon saying
Logging off
She has not changed any settings or added any software
The comp has anti virus and anti spy ware programs that are run at least once a week
Trend micro internet security 2006
Spybot
Ad aware
Ewido
CCleaner
Spyware doctor
Spywareblaster
SpyCatcher Express

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Ken

Some 3rd party applications, such as PCAnywhere, replace the Windows XP logon routine with their own. This script is designed to correct this, and allow you to use the Windows XP Welcome Screen.

Usage: Download fix_xp_logon.vbs and save this file to your hard drive. Navigate to where you saved it and double click the file. A confirmation dialog will appear when finished. You may need to log off/back on or restart your computer for the change to take effect. This script can be viewed in Notepad or any text editor, as to the specific Registry key and value that are updated.
