I have an old yellow Buslink USB Palmdrive, and the drivers on the CD do not work on XP. When I insert a CF card, I get a yellow code 1 exclamation point in the Device Manager(ATAPI-4 Bridge Controller). I've tried three different drivers so far and no luck. If anyone has a clue, please let me know ASAP....this device is at least 5 years old...

Support Information:
Device Type: Removable drive

Don't you mean > 2 years old instead? The CF Cards were built in 1994. That's a long time before Windows XP was introduced. No company that I'm aware of writes XP drivers for 12 year old obsolete devices.

Jerry...thanks for the info, and now I know this device will only work on non-XP OS...

I am probably wrong on the manufacture date as your device is USB. No such thing in 1994 so it has to be a bit newer than 94. Maybe 95 or 96 however.

I've got may be the same drive a few days ago on eBay as "New" . It has the CD in set with "setup.exe" file. Drivers support Win 98|ME|2000.
Reader works under XP without any problems but too slow.

Is that with Windows XP native drivers or the driver from your installation disk?

With drivers which come on the BUSlink CD. Without installing of these drivers XP says that it can't recognize the reader. But i want to repeat again. Even after installation the card reader works very slow because it only USB 1.1 compatible.
