My Mini-mouse suddenly stopped working the other night. When I plug it into the USB port I get a message saying something to the effect of "One of the USB devices cannot be properly detected," or something like that. I think just reinstalling the drivers would help (I don't know where they went), but I'm not sure. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Driver is provided natively by the operating system, eg: Windows XP. No need for any installation disk.

1. click the start button in the lower left of your screen. (or if mouse won't respond use keyboard commands).
2. click on "Turn Off Computer"
3. select "Restart" from the menu but do not click it yet.
4. unplug your mouse.
5. hit the enter key to restart your computer.
6. Let it start up completely...hit return if prompts appear.
7. plug in your mouse again... now it doesn't work at all ... thats good !!
8. Restart you computer by pushing and holding the on/off button on the computer tower.
9. Restart as usual and the mouse problem should be gone...

When the device was unplugged its driver was automatically uninstalled at startup... when plugged in again the drivers are automatically reinstalled at startup...

If that doesn't cure the problem please read the Microsoft troubleshooter:
