im running Win XP pro, fully updated. Using DriverGuideToolkit (paid for version ! ) Have backed up all drivers on my system.
When trying to reinstall some devices, some of the backup folders do not contain the correct driver backups. For example, my soundcard drivers have been saved in folders for three different devices.
Some drivers have not actually been copied either.
Has any one else had this problem ?
Any suggestions for a remedy ?
(The same thing happens with the old free version of WinDriversBackup used on Win 98, Win Me, and XP.

Get a better backup program or do backups manually. I burn all my drivers to cd-r and I don't need any backup program to do it.

Are you using version 2.12 or 2.11?

I am using version 2.0.11.
I have norton ghost for system image backup.
I just want to backup all drivers to one location for future use.
Some I can identify easily from original installation, but others often updated over the 'net are installed in the backgruond so I cannot recognise them.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Get DGT version 2.0.12. It's new and improved over 2.0.11

All you have to do to find out what driver is being used for any hardware is in Device Manager, right-click the device, click Properties, then click the driver tab and it will tell you exactly what driver is used and where it's located.

Have just updated to 2.0.16 and deleted all the old backups.
New backup has exactly the same errors.
I understand now how to find the drivers manually, thanks.
It seems a bit long-winded which is why I wanted DriverGuideToolkit !
