Hi

I've read previous posts on how to recover from an error message stating a missing or corrupt windows system32 config system. I've tried to run the recovery console, even tried to partition the drive but I get a BSOD stating Bad Pool Caller - changed memory but still get the BSOD. With these two errors i'm unsure what action to take. I'd prefer not to do a clean install as i've valuable data I need to recover.

Operating system is XP

Thanks in advance for ANY HELP

Never partition a drive unless you use some kind of partitioning software that allows non-loss of data.

Try re-instaling Windows XP. Takes around 20 minutes and you don't lose any data that's already on the hard drive. You only loose data if you do a clean install.
