I think I have inadvertantly uninstalled or deleted the driver in XP that helps this camera download images to the zoom browser program. Keep getting a message that says "camera not recognised.connect device and try again" The troubleshooting pages in the (comprehensive) manual don't address this situation.
Is there a way to reinstall just the missing driver from the OS disk? Or download one. I'm not too familiar with this sort of procedure. Thanks.

Try finding the instructions on Canon's website and then uninstall current drivers and associated software, clean the registry of any remaining Canon remnants, then reinstall the driver and software.

I've tried that. They only provide drivers, for this model, for '98,2000 and SE. I guess it is assumed that knowbody will accidentally delete the XP driver.
