AC97 multimedia audio controller won't work, tried the dell site but got a message that said "driver not found, reboot your system and run this setup again". Same with the intel site, nothing here has worked either. driver or help needed please. Onboard sound card, ac97 with the 875p chipset from intel.

I did go to the dell site but the driver I downloaded does not work, I get a message saying "driver not found, reboot your system and run this setup again" sound is enabled in my bios, I've completely updated my computer looking for a fix, I tried the driver from the intel site, and get the same result, what should I do, or where do I look for a driver?

It sounds like you don't have the right driver. Go back to Dell's website and make sure the driver you got matches the sound chipset in your machine.
